Case Studies
With the weather turning colder, it is inevitable that rodents will attempt to find more substantial shelter and, as a consequence, you may find that you have unwelcome visitors to your home.
With so many over-the-counter products available from baits to traps, many people will opt for the do-it-yourself method before calling out professional help. These pest control products can certainly resolve small rodent infestations, but when it comes to large populations of rats and mice, the only real solution is to call out a local pest control company.
A case in point was a mouse infestation that had one resident claiming to have caught 49 mice in just three weeks. Not just confined to a single residence, this particular plague of mice had spread to at least 12 different homes before a pest control team was called out.
According to local residents, the mouse problem had been present for a number of years, but with the warm summer providing ideal conditions for breeding, and then the colder months forcing the rodents to find shelter indoors, the true scale of the infestation had, only recently, become alarmingly apparent.
Of course, pest control measures had been implemented by the residents, including laying down traps and poisons in a bit to reduce the rodent population, but the sheer size of the problem had rendered these tactics almost useless.
Often, people shy away from calling on the services of a pest control company as they feel that a more cost-effective solution can be found by using readily available traps and baits. In the long-run, however, this is simply not true. A pest control company can not only eradicate an already established infestation, but they will also provide information and advice on preventing infestations in the future.
Calling on the services of a professional pest control company was the only option remaining for the residents in this particular street. But once a survey had been conducted and pest control methods implemented, it wasn't long before the mouse population was under control and eventually removed from the properties in question.
