Appearance

Adult — 6–10mm in length. Black with a whitish band across the fore-part of the elytra.
Larva — comet shape. Quick moving. Brown in colour and hairy. Migrate to pupate in solid material.

Lifecycle

2–3 months at 18–25°C.

Habits

Feeds on various animal products including cheese.
